VIDEO FINDS -- short introduction

So it turns out that there are actually some videos floating around there on the web. Who'd have thought. I suppose I kind of ignored the phenomenon for a long time because I am not a music video person. I never found the idea appealing; I don't like someone else's images planted in my head when it comes to music.

Slowly but surely I'm realizing, however, that the kinds of videos floating around online aren't just standard music videos. There are interesting performance videos, for one thing. And who knows what other odd sorts of wonderful music-related video artifacts. Stumbling upon this great, simple video of Randy Newman performing at his piano, I knew I needed a place to gather these things. Thus the belated birth of the "Video Finds" page.

I'm not going to aim for any particular sort of regularity here. I hope to add a new video every couple of weeks or so, but I'll do my best to resist the apparently irresistible urge to post things just to post things. That's so 2005, don't you think?
