Welcome to the Fingertips Contests page. Here's the place to look for stuff that you can win with very little effort and no contribution necessary. Of course you'll need a bit of luck. But don't we all.

The Future Is Unwritten
(the Joe Strummer documentary)

The Future Is Unwritten is a documentary of the life of Joe Strummer, legendary co-founder of the Clash. Directed by Julien Temple, the movie premiered at the Sundance Festival in January 2007; the DVD is scheduled for release on July 8.

There will be three winners in this contest. Each will receive both a DVD of the movie and a CD of the movie's soundtrack. Note that the soundtrack includes music not just from Strummer and the Clash but from an array of musicians who influenced Strummer, including Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, and the MC5.

Enter the contest by sending an email according to the directions to the right, and then crossing your fingers.

How to enter the contest

If you'd like to be eligible to win both the DVD and CD soundtrack of The Future Is Unwritten, send an email to prizecloset at fingertipsmusic dot com with "Strummer" in the subject line. In the body of the email, this time, please write:

1) your favorite song by the Clash; and:
2) your first name and last name, because, as usual, if you're going to win, I'm going to need to know. Anonymity has its limits.

Please use an email address that you check regularly so if you win, you'll be able to find out.

Winners will be selected at random from eligible entries. There will be three winners, each one receiving both the DVD and CD.

The deadline for entry is Thursday July 24. The drawing will take place shortly thereafter; only the winners will be notified; yada yada yada.
